Neighbors of a proposed concrete plant near the Sun City Texas retirement community in Georgetown say it will bring air pollution and too much traffic and noise to the area. Two state lawmakers and Georgetown officials have said they also have concerns about it.
Residents and officials spoke during a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality public hearing last Monday about an air permit requested by Five Star Concrete. The company is proposing to build a concrete plant a half-mile south of the intersection of Ronald Reagan Boulevard and Texas 195.
It would be on the north side of Reagan Boulevard, about a mile north of the nearest Sun City home, said the company s owner, Les Garrett. ....
