Fairport Canal Days attracts upwards of 200,000 people to this Erie Canal village.
1. One of the area s most popular festivals, canceled last year because of the coronavirus pandemic, is back for 2021 but with modifications.
Fairport Canal Days runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6. Because of work being done to Fairport s lift bridge, the free event will confined to the north side of the village. Festival attendance, which normally approaches 200,000 over the weekend, will be capped at a little under 12,000 at any one time so 6 feet of distance can be maintained between people. Usually, there are 200 vendors; this year there are around 100. Masks are not required for vaccinated people. Anyone who is unvaccinated should wear a mask. For ....
