First Glasgow's Caledonian bus depot will be largest electric vehicle charging station in UK

GLASGOW is set to host the UK s largest Electric Vehicle (EV) charging hub after ambitious £35 million changes are made to a South Side bus depot.
Work has already begun to transform First Bus s Caledonia depot with space to charge up to 300 EV buses on site.
This will provide vital infrastructure to support the introduction of a further 22 electric buses to Glasgow’s streets ahead of the COP26 United Nation’s Climate Change conference in November.
Michael Matheson, Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport, said: Through this £35m investment, First Bus continues to demonstrate its commitment to decarbonising its bus fleet, improving air quality and responding to the climate emergency. ....

ADL, BYD Partnership Receives Electric Bus Order from U.K. Operator

Alexander Dennis Ltd. (ADL) and BYD U.K. say their electric vehicle partnership has received an order for 22 BYD ADL Enviro200EV electric single deck buses from First Bus, one of the U.K.’s largest bus operators. Using BYD’s battery electric driveline technology, ADL will assemble the buses at its factory in Falkirk, Scotland.
The buses, which are part-funded by the Scottish government, will be deployed in Glasgow, Scotland, in time for the COP26 United Nations’ Climate Change conference, ahead of further electrification of the First Bus fleet in the city. This comes just seven months after First Bus announced its commitment to purchase no diesel buses after 2022 and to operate a fully zero-emission fleet by 2035. ....
