The Royals struck first in the second inning after Pitcher Mitchell Taylor lead off the inning getting hit by a pitch. He would come around to score by and RBI single from Ethan Miller. First Baseman Devyn Thornton would single in the inning, and would come around to score on a fielders choice.
In the fourth, Taylor would get on first again, this time via a walk, and came around to score to give Valley City a 3 to 1 lead. ....
