Pennsylvania is considering becoming the fifth state to implement government subsidies for nuclear power plants. State legislators introduced a bill on March 11, 2019 the Keep Powering Pennsylvania Act that would expand the state’s renewable energy standards to mandate the purchase of electricity from Pennsylvania’s five nuclear power plants, as well as create a stream of financial subsidies to those same plants regardless of their economic viability. ....
