Jul. 16—MITCHELL — The city s wetland project along Firesteel Creek is on the horizon. The Mitchell City Council will consider awarding a bid for the construction of the wetland project
Among the 10 bids submitted for the wetland project, Whiskeyboard Construction's $583,997 bid was the lowest. Several bids came in as high as $1 million for the 35-acre wetland project.
Three council members say they are against moving forward with dredging at this time, while four are in favor of the project. The council will vote on a 30-year loan application on June 20.
While Tjarks and Everson stand on opposite sides of the fence for the Lake Mitchell dredging project and plans to address an aging downtown, both share a strong love of the community.
