build a wall, and i thought why hasn t mexico been at the border saying build a wall, since all of our arms seem to find their way to the southern border. is this lawsuit going to be able to pass or is it really more of a symbolic gesture to call attention to the issue? i think there s two sides to this. one, they re certainly calling attention to the issue, and it s mind-boggling. i ve been here 20 years covering the violence in mexico. it often reassembles conflicts with human catastrophe, more than 300,000 dead over the last decade, mass graves. this spreads to central america and it s fueling many of the refugees coming to the united states. it ties many issues together. and i have seen more coverage on this firearms issue, it s mind-boggling, i ve seen more coverage over the last month than i have in the last 20 years. so it does raise attention to the issue at a time that the biden administration is looking
from suntrust bank saying all of his accounts would be closed. there was no explanation except that, quoting here there are circumstances where we will identify a specific account relationship that no longer meets these criteria. the owner, steve champion had no idea what the criteria was but when he called suntrust he said he quickly found out. listen. when i called, one of the people who answer the phone, first thing in the moernrning, could have been a clerk. said oh you got a gun letter, going out to gun shops across country. i can t say for sure that s the reason but it sure sounds suspicious for me. so we called suntrust and a spokesperson told us the reason mr. champion s accounts were closed is part of his business is a pawnshop, saying, quoting again, any question this is firearms issue is inaccurate. suntrust continues to do business with licensed firearms
are extremely unreliable in dangerous situations. they are easily hackable and they are extremely expensive. talking about $1,800 for a pistol watch combo in this electronic version and the thing that s dangerous here as well is that you have the attorney general talking about reforms and legislation. and, you know, the government shouldn t be legislating this technology in the name of safety when it s not safe, first of all, for gun owners and it infringes on a second amendment right. i mean very often you can use safety as a mask for a lot of things. you cannot? you can. and we have seen that with everything from our cars to our home electronics. when it comes to the firearms issue, again, i want to stress that this is a very expensive way to mandate things. a way for people to say that gun sun safe and this one isn t. the that isn t the issue. we shouldn t have to be forced to own a certain type of firearm to practice our second amendment right. there are also tens of millions
