Police arrested two southern Ontario men, and seized four handguns and a quantity of drugs Wednesday amid an investigation into drug-trafficking activity. Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Emergency Task Unit executed a search warrant at a residential address in the 100 block of Kenogami Avenue South just after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2. The TBPS K9 Unit was also involved in the execution of this warrant. The search was a result of an ongoing investigation into drug-trafficking activity by the TBPS’s Intelligence Unit, with assistance from the OPP’s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau. When officers entered the home they located two males, both of whom were residents of Brampton, Ont. The suspects were arrested without further incident and transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street. ....
Police arrested and charged a Toronto man following an investigation into a possible home takeover on the city’s south side Friday. Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Intelligence Unit attended a residential address in the 300 block Syndicate Avenue North to follow up on an investigation involving a possible home takeover just before 2 p.m. on Friday, May 28. When officers arrived, they learned there was a male inside the home who was unwanted by the homeowner and would not leave. They also observed a male suspect attempt to hide property, which was later recovered and found to be a loaded handgun and a quantity of suspected Fentanyl. Paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and currency were also located and seized. ....

They tell us they were patrolling the McLaughlin Street area in the south end around 9 o’clock Saturday morning, when they noticed the black pickup parked on the street. Police learned the suspect was inside, believed to have a gun. When they approached, they say the man reached into the back for unknown reasons, but was arrested without any trouble. Police add they found a gun, and suspected cocaine. The 29-year-old appeared in bail court over the weekend, and remains in custody. ....
Police recovered a stolen vehicle, seized a firearm and arrested a male suspect Saturday morning. Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were in the area of McLaughlin Street just after 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 1 when they observed a vehicle that had been reported as stolen. The black pickup truck was parked on McLaughlin Street when officers spotted it. Police learned the accused male, who was inside the vehicle, was believed to be in possession of a firearm. When officers approached the vehicle, the male initially reached into the back seat of the truck for unknown reasons. Despite this, officers were able to complete their arrest without further incident. ....
