Joliet Fire Chief Greg Blaskey said the blaze happened around 12:15 p.m. and that cigarettes were to blame. The family that lived at the house were alerted by their neighbors and they escaped with any injuries. Joliet Fire Department trucks from stations 8, 9 and 10 responded to 1617 Stanton Lane to put out the fire.
