The city’s solid waste rates will have a 6.5% increase in the upcoming fiscal year. beginning July 1, the residential rate will increase from $19 to $20.50 and the commercial rate will increase from $36.50 to $38.75.
The change was implemented by the Spencer City Council on Monday. Finance Director Brian Weuve reported the 6.5% increase was recommended by PFM, the city’s financial advisor.
