Of the listen. history will be watching what happens tomorrow. black and brown americans will be watching what happens tomorrow. in 50 years students will read about what happens tomorrow and know whether our leaders had the integrity to do the right thing. it is, again, franscesca, a fascinating moment in a lot of the same civil rights leaders are mad that president biden waited so long to make this his number one priority and talk about this so consistently, but we re about to mark one year in office for president biden, and this would be a defining defeat, but, again, a lot of groups say have the vote. we want accountability. and the activists i m hearing, from john, are frustrated with president biden. they feel that he s doing too little. he waited too long in order to articulate his position on a filibuster carve-out on this issue but democrats feel like from a messaging standpoint the best thing they can do for themselves is to get caught trying, john, to at least have thi ....

Bull conner. don t think this is a freebie. you don t get to vote this way and somehow it goes away. it will stick with you for the rest of your career and long after you are gone. all right, and as expected, senate democrats came up short last night and their bid to overcome a filibuster on voting rights legislation or to enact a filibuster carve out for that legislation. president biden said he s disappointed but not deterred over last night s bill. no matter how hard they make it for minorities to vote, you will see them willing to stand in line and defy the attempt to keep that from being able to vote. ....

Their guy, and so there s this new reporting that chuck schumer is planning to, i ll redo the letter he sent to colleagues in a dear colleague letter, the senate will debate and change senate rules on or before january 17th, to protect the foundation of our democracy, free and fair elections. what s so interesting about that letter from chuck schumer is he s really explicitly tying the january 6th insurrection to voting rights which has been such a big priority for the democrat democratic party, and you have seen shifts from president biden who said before the break that he s open to some sort of a filibuster carve out if that s what it takes to advance voting rights. now we expect any push to change the rules in the senate to allow voting rights bill to pass to fail because of opposition from two senate democrats, joe manchin, and kyrsten sinema. i think democrats really leaning ....

There is a lot of controversies of some of the decisions he made. let s get to politics now. the senate is expected to vote this week on voting rights legislation despite seemingly being doomed to fail. chuck schumer says the chamber will take up a pair of bills tomorrow, the legislation will almost certainly be rejected with lacking the 10 republican votes needed to clear the filibuster. efforts to enact a filibuster carve out for voting rights now seems unlikely as well with joe manchin and kirsten sinema coming out with that tactic. yesterday republican senator mit romney announced bipartisan efforts underway a bill to clarify the vice president s role in certifying election results as strictly ceremonial. a group of 12 senators, ....

Your state of new york have suggested cheryl, and the legal defense fund? well, you know, thankfully there is no shortage of profound intelligent, accomplished, and just you know, genius frankly, legal genius that we have of black women that would be more than suited to serve on the supreme court. i believe cheryl is a profound and wonderful candidate. i don t have a specific name right now, but thankfully we have a really strong bench of nominees. so, it is funny that the gop brought in a carve out from the filibuster for supreme court nominees that everyone is about happily use, but two democrats couldn t get on board with a filibuster carve out for voting rights just last week. i wonder, do you think president biden came too late to the fight on voting rights? was too late in coming out ....
