Dorian is expected to hit somewhere between florida and southern georgia on monday and could make landfall as a powerful category 4 storm. That would make it the strongest storm to hit floridas east coast since hurricane andrew in 1992. This ominous view from the International Space station shows the storm morphing into a monster. Chief meteorologist craig setzer of our miami station wfor is tracking dorians path. Well, the storm strengthened overnight, winds up to 105 miles an hour now, moving to the northwest at 12, expecting to continue because its over very warm waters. The wind shear very low. It will be a category 3 today, category 4 by tomorrow as it breaches the northwest bahamas. Thats the sunday evening time frame here. And then monday evening, labor day, approaching the florida coast

The center puts it south of orlando along floridas east coast. But they caution at the National Hurricane center that the storm could hit anywhere inside that cone of uncertainty. Right now dorian is churning in the atlantic ocean, a category one storm at last check. That said, the pressure has dropped. We havent had an update since 11 00 a. M. East coast time. Next update in two hours. Its likely the storm strengthened with nothing out there to break it down and hot water to give it life. Its continued in the past 24, how shifting about 80 miles to the east of where it was forecast yesterday. It is skirting toward a corner of puerto rico. The British Virgin islands also in line for impact with the storm system in the next couple of hours.
