林郑月娥表示，古今中外，爱自己的国家是天经地义的事，而背叛国家都被视为非常严重的罪行，是天理不容的。香港在回归前，甚至回归后，并没有有系统的爱国主义教育，反而在学校推动国民教育的工作就被别有用心的人和媒体大肆污名化，并借此破坏学生对国家的观念和认同，可以说是遗害甚深。
林郑月娥还表示，正因如此，更应该理直气壮地在香港推行爱国主义教育，弘扬爱国主义精神，借以纠正青少年的价值观。培育青少年的爱国情怀，是政府、教育界、家长和社会各界人士须共同承担的责任。
林郑月娥提到，社会应培养青年人具有国家观念，香港情怀和国际视野，对社会有承担。另外，爱国主义教育是可以更有系统地进行的。近年来，国家积极推行爱国� ....
