Vanguard News Translate Bill giving legal backing to establishment of NSIP Trust Fund passes second reading On By Levinus Nwabughiogu-Abuja House of Representatives has passed for second reading a bill seeking to provide a legal framework for the establishment of the National Social Investment Programme, NSIP. The bill is sponsored by the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, Hon. Ahmed Idris, Hon. Mansur Manu Soro and 9 other lawmakers. It may be recalled that several social intervention programmes have been provided by the federal government under the present administration. The programmes included the N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfer, Home-Grown School Feeding Market Moni and Trader-Moni. ....
Vanguard News Reps receive Customs, FIRS 2021 budget reports On By Levinus Nwabughiogu-Abuja House of Representatives yesterday received the reports of 2021 budgets for both the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS and the Federal Inland Revenue Service FIRS. While the chairman, House Committee on Customs, Hon. Leke Abejide presented that of Customs, the chairman, Committee on Finance, Hon. James Faleke laid that of the FIRS. Similarly, the House also consolidated two bills seeking to provide a legal framework for the establishment of national social investment Programmes for the assistance and empowerment of the poor and vulnerable in Nigeria. Presenting the Customs report, Abejide said the budget of the agency for the 2021 fiscal year stood above N1trillion. ....
Reps seek legal backing for Buhari’s Social Investment Programmes On By Tordue Salem The House of Representatives has consolidated two bills, to provide for a legal framework for Social Investment Programmes of the Muhammadu Buhari administration. The Bills, as consolidated, also seek to establish social investment consolidation office at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. The Bills listed for consolidation, are: “A Bill for an Act to Provide a Legal Framework for Establishment of National Social Investment Programmes for the Assistance and Empowerment of Poor and Vulnerable in Nigeria; and to Establish the National Social Investment Programmes Coordination Office within the Federal Ministry Responsible for Social Development to Manage the Implementation of the Programmes; and for Related Matters (HB. 1153), sponsored by Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, the Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Idris and 9 Others. ....
