Louisiana s front-line healthcare workers in the state s Tier 1 hospitals should begin receiving the first COVID-19 vaccines within days, White House officials said Tuesday during a summit that included Gov. John Bel Edwards.
Gen. Gustave Perna, chief operating officer of President Trump s Operation Warp Speed vaccination roll-out, said he expects shots in arms within 96 hours of the Pfizer vaccine s delivery to states.
The Pfizer vaccine could be approved by the Federal Drug Administration Thursday, after which Perna said delivery will begin within 24 hours to all 50 states.
Trump hailed the speed in which vaccines are being developed and delivered.
Today we re on the verge of another medical miracle, Trump said during the summit. Nobody thought it was remotely possible to do what we ve done in nine months. ....
