미얀마 군정, 해외 언론 향해 "쿠데타 표현 쓰면 처벌"

[헤럴드경제=신동윤 기자] 지난 2월 쿠데타로 정권을 장악한 미얀마 군사정부가 자신들을 향해 ‘쿠데타(coup d’etat)’나 ‘군정(junta)’ 등의 표현을 사용하는 해외 언론에 대해서는 강경 대응하겠다고 위협했다.
1일 로이터 통신에 따르면 미얀마 정보부는 앞으로 이같은 표현을 쓰는 외신에 대해서는 법적으로 대응하겠다는 내용의 성명을 관영매체에 냈다.
정보부는 성명에서 “일부 외신에 대해 해당 표현을 사용하지 않고 가짜뉴스를 확산시키지 말라고 경고했다”면서 “만일 이를 어기면 현행법에 따라 조치를 취하겠다”고 밝혔다.
대다수의 해외 언론사들은 군정 최고기구인 국가평의회(SAC)를 ‘군정(junta)’으로 표현하고 있다.
