Written by Mark Riser To the Editor, Fairfield County’s Giving Day, the region’s biggest day of philanthropic giving, is on Thursday, February 25 th this year. Powered by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, this dynamic 24-hour online fundraising event unites Fairfield County around local causes and nonprofit organizations that are closest to our hearts. Since 2014, Fairfield County’s Giving Day has raised over $9.3 million, benefitted over 1,550 nonprofits, and garnered over 97,000 donations. To date, 49 nonprofit organizations in the Danbury area, representing Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Georgetown, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sandy Hook, have signed up to participate this year.
