Changes in Fayetteville celebrations for St Patrick s Day with COVID

The coronavirus pandemic means St. Patrick s Day won t look the same this year as it has in past years, but there are still plenty of places around Fayetteville planning celebrations.  On Feb. 26, after being closed for indoor seating for nearly a year, bars were allowed to reopen indoor seating at 30% capacity and last call for alcohol sales was extended from 9 to 11 p.m.  St. Patrick s Day is March 17, but many places are getting in on the fun as early as this weekend. Here s a look at where you can celebrate: St. Patrick s Day at Dirtbag Saturday, beginning at noon. Burn off the calories you ll drink during the St. Paddy s Day Beer Mile race. Irish food menu from Napkins, plus live music and the release of two new beers. Dirtbag Ales Brewery and Taproom, 3623 Legion Road, Hope Mills. See more info. 

Fayetteville, NC virtual March of Dimes run set for April 2021

Two Greek organizations are working together to host a virtual run to benefit the March of Dimes.  The men of Epsilon Rho Lambda Chapter, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the women of Gamma Upsilon Zeta Chapter, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority will host the first A2Z Run at Your Pace fun run/walk April 18-24.  Participants can run or walk either the 5K or 3K at their own pace at any time during the run/walk period. Upon completion of their run/walk, participants are encouraged to post pictures to the A2Z website or their social media sites as well as use the hashtag #A2Zfunrun.
