apartment complex in cheverly. mikea turner is live on the scene with what we know so far. reporter: we are trying to put the pieces to the puzzle together. a short time ago we noticed two forensic service advance on the scene. two police vanuatus on the scene and two police officers. there was a report of a double shooting inside this apartment being. we are in the cheverly apartment complex, still looking to confirm details. again, reports of a double shooting sometime after 11 p.m. last night. prince george police on the scene. cheverly police handling the investigation. now, there are again details about maybe two people being shot. we are not sure what their conditions are. but, we are still trying to learn more about what is going on here. reporting live om we know the identity of a man accused in a deadly stabbing. leonard west is under arrest. police say he confessed to killing his girlfriend. a second woman was injured in the attacks. it happened y earlmo ....
this is the cbs evening news with scott pelley. mason: good evening, scott is off tonight, i m anthony mason. after another day of air strikes and rocket attacks, israel and hamas are inching closer to a ground war in gaza. the palestinian militant group has fired more than 450 rockets at israel this this week. three israelis have been killed in the attacks. in response, the israeli air force has pounded hamas targets killing at least 28 palestinians, including some children. air raid sirens sounded today in major cities, including jerusalem and tel aviv. allen pizzey is there. reporter: nearly 100 rockets fired from gaza made it into israel today, sending people running for shelters. and for the first time ever, a missile reached the edge of jerusalem. the growing threat from hamas is pushing israel closer to a ground war. israeli troops and armor are massing along the board we are gaza. 16,000 reservists have already been called up and the cabinet approved plans ....
