State Awards recognize people who have made significant contributions to high school athletics in North Carolina that go beyond a single accomplishment or having an outstanding win-loss record. The awards are named after individuals in each category.
Dr. Patrick Greene, principal of Greene Central High School in Greene County, was named the 2022 Wells Fargo North Carolina Principal of the Year at an awards luncheon today in Cary.
The first Tar Heel Trophy went to West Forsyth, while the Carolina Cup was won by Northwest Guilford at the NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational on Saturday in Raleigh.
