Patiala: Women farmers travel in a tractor towards the national capital, ahead of their planned Women s Day celebration, during the ongoing agitation against Centre s farm reform laws, in Patiala, Friday, March 5, 2021.
Thousands of women, farmers, students and activists are set to take over key roles at the Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur protest sites at Delhi s borders on International Women s Day today. Noting that women contribute significantly to the countryâs farming sector, the organisers have laid out elaborate plans to let women farmers take center stage and all the space under the sky to acknowledge the âbig but unrecognisedâ part of the farming community. Thousands of women farmers especially from Punjab and Haryana will congregate at Delhiâs borders on Monday and the day will be entirely dedicated to women farmers, activists and students, farmer leaders said.
