The Supreme Court on Tuesday (March 12) declined to entertain a public interest litigation (PIL) petition seeking the immediate removal of farmers from the borders of Delhi, amidst the ongoing.
A division bench of the High Court had ordered the setting up of a committee of a retired High Court judge and two Additional Director Generals of Police (ADGP) to probe the farmer’s death.
Multiple sources in the government said that as the Union ministers said that cases pertaining to the Red Fort will not be withdrawn, the farmer leaders asked for the reason.
While KMM’s Sarwan Singh Pandher rubbished SKM leaders’ statements that they were not consulted about the ‘Dilli Chalo’ call, SKM leaders said only some of them were consulted, that too on an individual basis.
