But steve donald also had sharp words for Nicholas Luerkens the man donald refused to call by name today in court. On friday in linn County District court, judge Mitchell Turner had no latitude in the sentence for Nicholas Luerkens this would be mandatory life in prison for first degree murder. Yet, minutes before the sentence, two statements on Lynnsey Donald, the young woman that luerkens stabbed to death in april in a marion Grocery Store parking lot. The first, a statement from donalds grandmother, read by a victims advocate, talked of the nightmares that have filled the nights of so many of her loved ones.
