Stockton police Officer Jimmy Inn was just 30 years old when he was killed in the line of duty Tuesday.
A longtime Stockton resident, the Ronald E. McNair High School and San Joaquin Delta College POST Academy graduate is remembered as an officer and a father.
Inn is survived by his wife, Tela Inn, who is also a Stockton police officer and a San Joaquin Delta College graduate, as well as a 7-month-old son, a 12-year-old stepdaughter and a 14-year-old stepson.
Inn was hired in December 2015 by the Stockton Police Department, where he became part of the Field Operations Division.
He was one of 18 new officers introduced by Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones during a welcoming ceremony in July 2016. The ceremony was just a week after he graduated from the Delta College POST Academy. Inn was also a member of the Stockton Police Department Honor Guard.
