My Take: All Michiganders win by ending food insecurity

The worse public health crisis in a century brought us death, hardship and division. Yet out of this despair arose unprecedented opportunities to learn, innovate and grow beyond our own ceilings.
The pandemic showed us a glimpse of the depth and breadth of food insecurity across Michigan. It also shed light on how many people live on the brink of food insecurity and offered insights on the resources necessary to create a food secure Michigan. SNAP, P-EBT, CFAP, TEFAP, S-EBT, TM, SFSP, CARES and FF acts represent acronyms for food programs sponsored by the government to help ensure people have access to food. Candidly, the state of Michigan made tremendous efforts to help ensure our residents had enough food.
