Fourth Annual Spring Findings at Stone Ridge Orchard Elizabeth Ryan of Hudson Valley Farmhouse Cider and Stone Ridge Orchard will present the 4th annual Spring FINDINGS, taking place at Stone Ridge Orchard on May 4 and May 5. FINDINGS is a 50-vendor strong, curated market of specialized growers, boutique nurseries, antique dealers from around the globe and local makers from the Catskills, Hudson Valley and beyond.
Vermont Sci-Fi & Fantasy Expo The fifth annual Vermont Sci-Fi & Fantasy Expo returns to Essex Junction this weekend with a bang (and a BIFF and a POW). Nerds of all stripes don their hobbit trousers and Han Solo jackets for two days of panels, demonstrations, workshops and more. Attendees learn about 3D printing, the history of cosplay, women in genre fiction, and how to write and self-publish a novel. Special guests include veteran puppet maker and Jim Henson colleague Bill Diamond; charity cosplay group the Montreal X-Men; local heroes the 802 Ghostbusters; and the Star Wars-themed gaming club the Outer Rim Sabacc League. Kingdom Maple Festival The town of St. Johnsbury stakes its claim to the title “Maple Center of the World” during the Kingdom Maple Festival, a daylong celebration of all things sweet and sticky. Attendees of all ages satisfy their sweet tooth at a pancake breakfast, stock up on treats at a maple-themed bake and yard sale, browse the stalls at a sugary street fair, and shop at the last indoor farmers market of the year.
