A snowstorm beginning Wednesday is expected to temporarily bring things to a halt locally with the National Weather Service forecasting 12-to-18 inches in the Danbury area.
As of early Tuesday evening, the National Weather Service said it expects about 16 inches in Danbury with snow starting in the afternoon and heavy snow into the evening. The snow is expected to taper off Thursday morning, but a potential for wind damage is a concern with winds expected to be 15-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
