The 9th UB-Torres Environmental Session debates whether European aids can end with climate inaction
19/05/2021 The University of Barcelona will hold on Wednesday June 2, the 9th Environmental Session, jointly organized with Torres Family and the meteorologist and lecturer of Physics of the UB Tomàs Molina. Under the motto “Money from Europe, will it help us to break with the current indifference regarding climate change?”, the meeting will gather twelve experts willing to analyse how European funds could unblock the government and society’s lack of actions regarding climate change. This new edition of the Environmental Session will take place in the Paranimph of the Historical Building of the University of Barcelona with the attendance of fifty people, and will be live-streamed on the Youtube channel of the University. 12/05/2021 The University of Barcelona is listed among the top five universities in Spain in the 23 studies analysed by the ranking “50 carreras”, from El Mundo newspaper, published on May 12. In seven of these degrees, the UB is listed as the top one in Spain. These data are an improvement regarding the last edition of the ranking, in which sixteen degrees of the UB were among the top five in Spain, and four of them held the top position. ....

Research study links the presence of women on directive boards to competition policies
08/03/2021 A greater presence of women in directive boards in companies is related to a lower participation in cartels, agreements between companies to reduce competition and harm consumers. This is the main conclusion of an interuniversity research study funded by OCDE, which counts on the participation of Joan-Ramon Borrell, lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the UB.
