Today, negotiators between the European Parliament, Council and Commission have reached an agreement on the F-gases Regulation, which will see the faster phase out of these harmful gases. Fluorinated gases are super greenhouse gases that have an impact on the climate often thousands of times greater than CO2. F-gases are used in refrigeration, heat pumps and the electricity grid among other things.
The EU Council and Parliament reached agreement Thursday on new legislation to massively reduce greenhouse gas emissions from fluorinated gases and ozone depleting substances.
