Becomes first Nigerian film to get theatrical release in Netherlands and Luxembourg. x The theatrical release of the film is planned for 2022 spring. This is because theatres are reopening soon in Belgium and the Netherlands, where so many titles are waiting for a release. Speaking on the acquisition, Marc Boonen, Artistic Director at MOOOV, said, “In EYIMOFE, we follow Mofe and Rosa in the Nigerian metropolis of Lagos. They lead different lives but have the same dream of building a new life in Europe. The film is a migrant story without migrants, because even though the film consists of the chapters Spain and Italy, we don’t get to see anything from either country. Therefore, Eyimofe is a carefully observed story about dreams. MOOOV is honoured to distribute in the BENELUX this refreshing full-length debut and introduce the Esiri brothers, two young and promising talents.” ....
It is now confirmed that Nigerian feature film Eyimofe (This Is My Desire) will screen at this year’s Black Movie International Film Festival in Geneva. This is coming after the earlier selection of the film in the World Panorama section of the 51st edition of India’s biggest festival, The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) for 2021. Billed to open on January 22 and run through January 31, 2021, a jury of international cinema critics choose their favorite feature length film amongst a selection of the most innovative films screened during the festival for the Critic’s Award. The awarded film wins a prize of 5,000 Swiss francs given by the Town of Geneva. ....
By Editor 15 January 2021 | 10:44 am Following a successful showing in 2020, Nigerian feature film Eyimofe (This Is My Desire) has opened the year with a selection in the World Panorama section of the 51st edition of India’s biggest festival, The International Film Festival of India (IFFI). Opening tomorrow and runs through January 24 in Goa, IFFI organisers recently announced the list of films under its World Panorama section, which consists of 50 outstanding films from across the globe. With a total of 8 films, majority of the films in the list are from Germany, followed by France with 6 movies. The line-up also includes films from The United States of America, Italy, Greece and Netherlands, with Eyimofe representing Nigeria. ....
