States could potentially take out much of the air force of bashar al assad. is that, is that worth doing, peter? i mean, if you take out his aircraft, maybe crater the runways to prevent them from being used by anything but helicopters, is that worth doing? well, the question, jon, is what s the objective? what s your end state? what are you trying to achieve here? you don t want this to be a feel-good exercise. you don t want this to be eye wash, you know, for the obama administration s failed policies over the last two and a half years that has led to 100,000 people per riching. you know perishing. you have to have a strategic objective that protects and advances american interests. sure, you can take out those runways, but then you create somewhat of no-fly zone. what about the opposition? who are we supporting? we talked about sending arms to some rebel groups. that hasn t happened. do you want this to turn into an islamist state? into an al-qaeda state? ....
Jeopardy for the administration. jon: on the i.r.s. thing the president has taken firm and decisive action. we are getting a new i.r.s. commissioner. he fired a guy who was going to leave next month anyway. i think this is basically just eye wash. it s attempting to show action and give him credit for that, but i don t think it means anything in terms of a scandal. jon: when he stood up there in front much the american people and said i ve instructed jack lew and we are accepting the resignation of the i.r.s. commissioner everybody is thinking, okay he s getting tough. as you point out the guy was going to resign in three weeks anyway. that s right. the real story here is what we ll find out from the actual people on the ground who are doing this in cincinnati and elsewhere, and the officials and what they said why did they do this? what was their motive? who were they responding to? what directions were they getting from up top? what did they think they were doing? jon: there ar ....

Administration did not quickly go out to say let s get drilling going in the gulf again. a lot of the platforms simply left our part of the planet and went elsewhere because america is not drilling. meanwhile the president and his administration are long money to brazil so they can drill, and to other countries so that they can build huge new refineries but we re not doing that here. if anything we are crippling the ability of our oil industry to supply a product that americans depend on. the fact is that it s important for people to get to work, and if you say it s taking advantage of them to pay the cost of barrel oil, which is the same price everywhere on planet earth the president must think that these speculators have a worldwide conspiracy, great, barack obama and his worldwide conspiracy theory. it s a bunch of political eye wash designed to benefit him politically and divert attention from the real problem. we need more oil we should be drilling for it right now. maybe you ca ....
