Products of a spreadsheet. they put in the best science. it is just a spreadsheet and a model. even if we take them at their word, we need to the most misleading thing that has been said is 75% of the oil is gone. that s not what the report said. the report says 40 or 45% of the oil is still in the water. and then we have on top of that the 26% which is the residual. this is the gooey stuff still floating in the water buried on the coastal sediment. floating stuff is going to come ashore for weeks and months to come the buried stuff can last for decades. all of that can have an ecological effect. shepard: we won t know that effect i m guessing for months, years, decades? we don t know the entirety of the exxon valdez spill they still have oil under the sand out there. that s right. the other thing that the administration is recalibrated, ....

Recovered? dan springer is streaming live tonight from valdez alaska. prince williams sound has more the post part recovered. most of the wildlife has returned. this area is a scene nick gem. we had a chance to get up in an airplane and look at the area. we saw no visible science of the devastation 21 years ago. sea otters, seals and all but one species is back. the herron never did return. killing. the effects of the spill are still being studied. any oil not removed stays around a very long time. noah just finished a project digging 9,000 holes under hundreds of miles of coast line, amazingly they found oil from the exxon valdez in half of them. there is still some 21,000 gallons of oil spread around just below the surface. so all these years later, wildlife is still being exposed to toxic tar. and the feeling now is that some oil will be here in a hundred years. none the less, the fishing town ....
