Dog Obedience School offered for youth and adult owners and their dogs

Dog Obedience School offered

Dog Obedience School offered Submitted News LEWISTOWN University of Illinois Extension in Fulton County will offer a Dog Obedience School for both youth and adult owners and their dogs. The sessions will begin June 2, 6:30 p.m. at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Lewistown.  The four sessions will be instructed by Danette Phelps, and will be held June 2, 9, 16, and 23.  Masks are required for all participants and spectators present. A registration fee ($25 for youth 8-18, $50 for adults) will cover the four weeks of training.  To participate, you must register with the Extension Office in Lewistown by June 1.  Call 547-3711 to receive a registration form, or stop by their office in the Farm Bureau Building, at the junction of Routes 97 and 100, on the north edge of Lewistown.  The form and information can also be found on the office website, https://extension.illinois.edu/sites/default/files/fulton dog obedience 2021.pdf 

Fulton County 4-H Public Speaking Contest

County Fulton For those enrolled in the 4-H Public Speaking project, the judging will be Saturday, May 15, at 10 a.m., at the Extension Office in Lewistown (upstairs in the board room). If you want to participate, and are not yet enrolled in that project, you have until May 1 to add it as a project. Call 547-3711 or email jblout@illinois.edu to do so. If COVID conditions worsen between now and then, this could possibly change to a virtual format. Categories are Formal Speech, Illustrated Speech, Original Works, and Oral Interpretation. All presentations must be four to six minutes in length.
