Business West has created services for traders which remove the hassle of ensuring accurate customs clearance and avoids delays and extra costs at the border. Since January 1, businesses need to complete customs declarations when exporting or importing goods to and from the EU, may need to produce an ATA Carnet, and EU importers may request a certificate of origin. “Businesses are facing a multitude of post-Brexit changes currently and with the Coronavirus pandemic already disrupting supply chains, this is causing understandable confusion and frustration for firms,” said Catherine Stephens, head of international trade services at Business West. “There are however ways companies can get prepared for trading with the EU and we want to assure businesses of the support available.” ....
WITH the UK now outside of the European Union, there are new rules and regulations when trading with the EU. One of these is that companies must follow rules of origin and make the correct declarations and have proof of preferential origin in place.
