Palestine urges International Quartet to help enable elections in occupied East Jerusalem
RAMALLAH, Monday, April 05, 2021 (WAFA) – Palestine today urged the Middle East International Quartet to pressure Israel into allowing elections for the legislative council planed on May 22 in occupied East Jerusalem.
In identical letters sent to the members of the Quartet - UN Secretary-General António Guterres, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, European Union Minister for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell, and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken - on holding legislative and presidential elections in the occupied territories, Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Riyad Malki highlighted the actual steps taken so far towards the elections, including updating the electoral register and accepting the lists of electoral candidates.

Al-Quds reported that the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani affirmed the Palestinian people’s right to establish its state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
Al-Ayyam said that President Abbas briefed the Emir of Qatar on the latest developments on the Palestinian arena.

RAMALLAH, Monday, December 14, 2020 (WAFA) - Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Minister Riyad Malki said that we must protect the ability of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to fulfill its responsibilities with integrity and strength.
Malki s remarks came during his virtual participation in the nineteenth session of the Assembly of States Parties (ASP) to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC) opened today at the World Forum Convention Center in The Hague, The Netherlands. The session, which will be held remotely due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, is scheduled from 14 to 16 December in The Hague and from 17 to 23 December 2020 in New York.
