So i was asked to do a book, my first book, the very first book, the one i thought would make me for ever was an investigative look at the beauty spots in america. There were only 12 at the time. Only 12. This was back in 1978, and i thought this is fascinating. So i would go to every spa, state week and i would write a chapter about what they were really like inside. I thought, this is it. Its it sold 14 copies. My mother my mother bought 14 and that was it. But i remember when i went to one place, it was called the hot springs. I would arrive on sunday and stay for the whole week and put that in the chapter. I arrived, and the woman at the desk said sit down, please. Weve had a problem here. The emotional and political arguments in favor of the treaty, no one can disagree with these arguments, but the question is, will the treaty have the legal effect thats being proctored by the proponents of the treaty . We dont hear citations to the articles of the treaty. We dont hear consideration of the reports, the concluding observations by the committees of the rights of persons with a diabetic. Elms around the cuban missile crisis, october, 1962. All of us wanted to have a good book ready for the fall of 2012. And many every us in the Historical Community as well as certainly at the library knew that there were these tremendously rich tapes, only a small percentage of which had actually been heard, and that it would be a service to the Historical Community and to all americans to get the tapes out to the listening public. So the library made the tapes available, but they need add historian to write an introduction and annotate, and so thats where i came in. Im going to run a quick one here.
