[이미디어= 황원희 기자] 브뤼셀 유럽위원회 측은 최근 EU(유럽연합)가 지구 온난화를 제한하기 위해 세계 최초로 순 제로 배출을 달성하려는 전면적인 계획을 세웠는데 이는 경제와 무역의 모든 분야를 겨냥한 전략이라고 밝혔다. 이 같은 계획은 EU 외 지역에서 생산한 제품에도 동일한 환경 비용을 물리는 탄소국경세를 도입하는 것을 골자로 하는 것이어서 지금까지 나온 규제 중 가장 강력한 것으로 평가된다.

유럽위원회는 1990년 대비 2030년 평균 온실 가스 배출량을 55%, 2050년엔 순제로로 줄이겠다는 목표 달성을 보장함으로써 기후 변화를 해결하기 위해 고안된 13가지 정책을 발표했다.
