Good to see you again. i appreciate you spending time every night talking to us about this. where we now? this is a situation that has been developing fast. not as fast as the russians would ve liked it to, in fact. it was quite unusual that the russian military, is struggling to take control of kyiv. given their relative size compared to the ukrainian military there. indeed they are. it is kind of like something we learned here in the mountains. the russian bear is biting the porcupine. that is not a good experience for the russian bear. they may ultimately consume the ukraine, but those quills, those wounds that the russian military are taking are gonna last a long time. they re gonna in fact. and that infection is going to lead to insurgency in ukraine, and possibly, as the body bags returned to moscow. there s gonna be more people on ....
Lviv in western ukraine, near the polish border is nbc correspondent cal. last time we talk to you, you had to get out of position because sirens were going on. suggesting there was some danger to the city. which is remarkable unto itself. more rip are kabul when people understand where lviv is. we re talking about kyiv, the center of the country, it was a stretch to think there would be attack on kyiv even though u.s. intelligence said there would be. but lviv is almost on the polish border, on the western side of ukraine. yes, i m far closer to the polish border than i am to the ukraine capital of kyiv. it s three hours to the west of kyiv. so this was supposed to be the safe city. this is well to be the place where people take refuge. we have seen violence. but the air raid sirens were not something that people were expecting. they were not where they were ....
Shut down. full of paratroopers. if that is the case, that is the single largest loss of paratroopers since the check-in war. so we re looking at a situation here, where putin has isolated himself, the russian there has been into a porcupine, always a bad thing. and the consequences are going to be severe. the defense of kyiv are going to play a major role here. if the russian military is unable to easily conquer kyiv, then that is going to play in ways that are unknown, but we can anticipate. very very badly for putin. congressman, good to talk to you again. thank you for joining us this morning. congressman john durham and he is the thank you for making time for us. once again. still ahead, the ukrainian ....
