32 Tennessee localities awarded $26.5M for parks and recreation projects

On Thursday afternoon, Gov. Bill Lee and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) announced a total of $26,501,705.74 has been awarded to 32 communities across the Volunteer State for local parks and recreation projects.

Smyrna Receives $3.9--Million Infrastructure Grant

(NASHVILLE)  State Rep. Mike Sparks, R-Smyrna, and State Rep. Charlie Baum, R-Murfreesboro, announced that Smyrna will receive a $3.9 million grant to improve water infrastructure.  The grant, administered by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), is among 43 grants totaling $203.2 million from the state’s American Rescue Plan (ARP) fund. Smyrna will receive $3.9 million to correct significant non-compliance issues, including wastewater plant capacity .

UPDATE: $5.5 Million Grant to Replace 37,000 Feet of Water Lines in Rutherford County

UPDATE: Rutherford County – and specifically Consolidated Utility District (CUD) will receive just over $5.5 million from the state to replace more than 37,000 feet of water lines, improve current service to underserved communities, and provide service to local households lacking water. CUD will use the funds to pursue infrastructure work along Baker Road and the South Loop area. The Baker Road project will replace approximately 11,000 feet of 12-inch water main from I-24 to .
