Trump will be prosecuted, the way that s etch e cupp put it o air is awful but lawful. what strikes you most in these numbers? well, i think it is a little different than awful but lawful, that s a determination for obviously the justice department to make. she wasn t making a determination to be clear, but talking about how the public may see it. what we have seen is that about six in ten people say they are paying some attention at the very least. but what you re seeing in those numbers is a huge partisan di divide. double democrats who are watching it as compared to republicans, about 80% of democrats, 44% of republicans. so the number of people who can be budged here is not a huge percentage. now, what we did see is that we had an increase from about 43% to 52% among independents who said that they believe now that this is an insurrection and a threat to democracy, which is a little bit different than we had seen previously. ....

Republicans cannot both be loyal to donald trump and loyal to the constitution. at this moment [ applause ] joining me is barbara mcquade and robert gibbs. thanks to both of you. barbara, first of all, cipollone apparently warned mark meadows, the chief of staff, there would be blood on his hands that s not the way he phrased it. it was a little more emphatic, shall we say, profane. blood on his hands if nothing were done to stop the violence. the committee wants cipollone to testify next wednesday. his lawyer says he is weighing what he can say based on etch he can executive privilege. can he fight the represent? he doesn t represent president trump. he represents the office of the presidency of the united states. is the executive privilege claim ....
Keepers, what might have happened inside the house chamber? joy, i can t even begin to try to fathom what that would look like, where trump would go in, who he would demand to talk to, whether he would enter the chamber and try to make a speech in front of congress or go into the rotunda, what the secret service would do on the one hand, trying to protect the president from harm, on the other hand, again, a crowd whipping into a frenzy that we know was armed, that we know was at that time or imminently about to start fighting capitol police and metropolitan police officers to gain entrance. i don t know how you have this violent activity going on, the east side, west side, bear spray, all the images we have seen again and again and again, and in the middle of that to have president trump and a motorcade driving up, etch i exiting into the chaos. it s difficult to envision. it speaks to the almost panic that you heard recounted about what pat cipollone was saying, ....
