Joan Laporta confirmed as Barcelona president after paying deposit

Joan Laporta has been sworn in as president of Barcelona until 2026 after presenting a guarantee of €124.6 million (£106.7 million) that was required in order to formally take up office again at the Camp Nou.
Laporta was elected club president for a second time on March 7 gaining 54 per cent of the votes cast by Barca’s members, well ahead of the other candidates Victor Font and Toni Freixa.
The 58-year-old s first presidency ran from 2003 to 2010, a period that included the club winning six trophies in one season under Pep Guardiola in 2009-10. ....
