After months of activism, Lehigh Valley Black leaders say they haven’t seen enough change

On May 25, George Floyd, a 46-year-old Black man, was killed while in police custody in Minneapolis, a tragedy that would spark global civil rights marches for months to come. As protests for justice and equality swept the United States and the rest of the world, the Lehigh Valley joined in.
Peaceful protests sprung up in Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and surrounding towns and boroughs. Cries of “no justice, no peace” rang throughout downtowns around the area as the Lehigh Valley’s Black community and its allies made visible the frustration and anger they’ve been feeling for generations due to oppression and aggression at the hands of law enforcement. ....
