(Photo provided by Amy Paxson) SALEM – Ila Jeanne Paxson loved kids, music and helping people – now that love will continue through a memorial scholarship fund established in her name. The retired Salem teacher and organist emeritus of Emmanuel Lutheran Church passed away in November after a lifetime of service to others, including supporting the church youth group. Known as THUGs (True Heroes Under God), the youth group is holding a Superbowl Soup and Subs Fundraiser for the scholarship fund to help Ila’s mission of helping others live on. ....
