In an interview, John Philip Tan, the executive assistant of Governor Nilo Demerey Jr., said the release of the allowances was facilitated on Tuesday. "Each of the scholars received PHP2,000 in allowances or a total of PHP1,086,000," Tan said. The scholars who received the aid consisted of college students presently enrolled in different schools in the province as well as in Surigao City.
