A study from Columbia University that looked at a large population of adults iagnosed with schizophrenia has found the youngest group (18-34) had the highest suicide risk and those aged 65 and older had the lowest. In the general US population, younger adults have less risk and older age groups have greater risk.

Since the virus hit the state in March 2020, a total of 313,166 cases and 7,228 coronavirus-related deaths have been reported.  According to a New York Times database Friday, at least 818 new coronavirus deaths and 47,325 new cases were reported in the U.S. on Thursday. Over the past week, there has been an average of 45,081 cases per day, a decrease of 27% from the average two weeks earlier.

Rutgers opens COVID vaccine sites at Piscataway, Newark, Camden

Appointments are available at three campus clinics  Campus Center, Lower Level, South ABC, 326 Penn St. at Rutgers-Camden; Stonsby Commons, 91 Bleeker St. at Rutgers-Newark and the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, 160 Frelinghuysen Road at Rutgers-New Brunswick’s Piscataway campus. The safety of our campus community remains our highest priority,  said Antonio Calcado, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Rutgers. Vaccinating students on our campuses gets us another step closer to ending this public health crisis, providing a safe environment in the fall, and the opportunity for students to get the college experience again.
