Oyo Assembly confirms appointment of anti-corruption agency board members

The Oyo State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of a seven-man board to oversee the Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency.
DAILY POST gathered that Governor Seyi Makinde had sent the names of the members of the board to the Assembly for confirmation.
The Assembly however on Friday confirmed the appointment of the members of the agency’s board.
DAILY POST gathered on Friday that the confirmation was sequel to a screening exercise conducted for all the nominees by the Oyo State House of Assembly.
The board has Justice Eni Esan, a retired President of Oyo State Customary Court as Chairman.

Tenure of Caretaker Chairmen of 33 Local Government Areas and 35 local council development areas is set for a three-month extension.
This stems from a letter from Governor Seyi Makinde seeking the tenure extension for the caretaker chairmen read at plenary of the state House of Assembly on Monday.
The current six months tenure extension for the caretaker chairmen is billed to expire on December 19.
Speaker of the state Assembly, Honourable Adebo Ogundoyin, who read the governor’s letter, assured that the request will be attended to during its plenary on Friday.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has sought the approval of members of the State House of Assembly to appoint members of the State Anti-corruption agency.
DAILY POST gathered that Makinde on Monday sent names of prospective members of the agency to the Assembly.
He sent names of the nominees for the Board of the Oyo State Anti-corruption Agency to the state Assembly on Monday
Makinde made the request in a letter read by the Speaker of the state Assembly, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin.
The nominees are Honourable Justice Eni Esan, a rtd President of Oyo State Customary Court as Chairman, Prince Oyebade Oyedepo, ICAN representative as Member, Barrister Temitope Ayorinde as a member and Mrs Esther Olapade as a member.
