Care Connect+ awards innovators micro grants, announces expansion in Flagler County

To kick-off its expansion into Flagler County, Care Connect+ awarded Innovators Micro Grants to four Flagler County nonprofit organizations for the purpose of supporting new or existing programs that positively impact persons experiencing homelessness, hunger, behavioral health issues, financial instability, affected by COVID-19, lack of access to affordable housing, transportation, medication or health care in Flagler County.
Care Connect+ is a social health organization, developed by Flagler Health+, that connects area residents with a single access point to services that address social determinants of health in a coordinated way across communities.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The COVID-19 vaccine is now in St. Johns County.
Several Flagler Health Plus workers got their first doses Tuesday afternoon. They’re among the first in the county to have access to the immunizations.
It was a quick stick, then sighs of relief, as four doctors and nurses received the shots simultaneously. Medical staff clapped as they waited in line for theirs.
“Very minimal if any discomfort,” said Brian Kiekover, M.D., who runs the hospital’s emergency department. “This allows us to feel like we have some type of immunity against this hidden foe. So this is power.” ....
