Manatee School District Spokesman Mike Barber said DeSantis, along with state Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran have indicated that older teachers will be a priority, but at this point there were no clear directives as to how that would play out. “My understanding is that there will be some educators who will be one of the priorities in terms of moving forward because of the nature of their job,” Barber said.
