Chief says it shows a mob who infiltrated Peaceful Protesters to attack Police Officers, trying to provoke them. Gas was deployed. The chief said some of the instigators were highly organized, carrying walkie talkies, carrying others who flanked the attack. Rebar pelted the officers. Thats when the onscene commander called for the use of tear gas and what are called rubber foam baton rounds. If that entire crowd would have turned on those officers, they would have been overrun. It would have been a done deal. It wouldnt have even been close and easily could have led to a deadly force situation.
