COLA agreement was to include interest
By Laura Matthews HAGÃ TÃA, Guam (Pacific Daily News, Jan. 21, 2010) - Three separate lawsuits were filed against the government of Guam yesterday for its failure to honor an agreement to pay the interest on the cost-of-living allowance (COLA) settlement for GovGuam retirees.Mike Phillips, the attorney representing the retirees, said the lawsuits include one class action that was filed on behalf of every beneficiary, another for a single plaintiff, and the other for the money that GovGuam owes the law firm.
